You may be navigating a relationship, anxiety, a life transition, questions around identity or sexuality, or patterns that keep repeating despite your best efforts.
Jack’s approach is warm and collaborative, helping you better understand what’s keeping you stuck and develop new ways of moving forward.
Approach
Jack believes that lasting change comes from combining insight with practical action. His integrative approach draws from a variety of modalities and emphasizes:
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): Helping individuals and couples recognize the emotional patterns underlying conflict, strengthening attachment and creating greater safety in relationships.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy: Encouraging clients to notice thoughts, feelings, and reactions with greater awareness and less automatic judgment.
Family Systems & IFS-Informed Work: Exploring the different parts of ourselves and the family and relationship systems that shape our responses to others.
Gottman Method: Utilizing evidence-informed tools to strengthen friendship, communication, conflict management, and emotional connection between partners.
Psychodynamic & Strength-Based Approaches: Understanding how earlier experiences influence present-day relationships while recognizing and building upon the strengths clients already possess.
Collaborative Exploration: Clients bring invaluable knowledge about their lives; Jack provides clinical expertise and tools to help make sense of what is happening and what might change.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Identifying beliefs and patterns that influence emotions and behavior, and developing practical strategies for changing those that are no longer helpful.
Jack's approach is about becoming curious about difficult patterns, understanding their origins, and deciding whether there is a healthier or more satisfying way forward.
LGBTQ+ Affirming Care
LGBTQ+ affirming therapy is central to Jack’s practice and training. He understands that sexual orientation and gender identity are only parts of a person's life. Whether clients come to therapy to explore identity or sexuality, or to address relationship issues, Jack aims to provide an environment where they do not have to explain or defend who they are. His goal is to create a therapeutic space that honors diverse relationship structures, including non-monogamy, polyamory, and kink.
